Colourful Spring Art Show Offers Relief from Endless Winter White

It’s March 15, only 5 days until the first day of spring. Yesterday, Mother Nature teased us with lovely spring-like temperatures. Water dripping from icicles and rivulets running off shrinking snow piles warmed our hearts and filled us with hope. Winter must be coming to an end.

Then the snow returned today and temperatures dropped well below freezing again. Sigh! Yet in the midst of this seemingly endless winter, a breath of fresh air blows through Muskoka next weekend with the opening of the Muskoka Arts & Crafts Spring Members’ Show.

For three days, you can wander among beautiful works of art and escape from the world outside. And maybe  find a special item that touches your spirit, that you must make part of your home.

Here are the show details:

Date/Time –
Friday, March 21: 7 – 10 pm
Saturday, March 22: 10am – 5 pm
Sunday, March 23: 11 am – 4 pm

Location – Bracebridge Sportsplex,  110 Clearbrook Trail, Bracebridge, Ontario

The Spring Members’ Show displays the strength, vitality, creativity, and wealth of talent found within Muskoka Arts & Crafts. The diverse and outstanding work by our members creates an exciting three-day exhibition. Over one hundred of our four hundred members have their work in the show.

The Show opens with an awards presentation and reception on Friday beginning at 7pm. Following the awards presentation, Moonglow takes the stage to provide an evening of entertaining music as the artists and the public mingle to share ideas about the work on hand as well as creativity in general.

While visiting the show, you can cast your vote for the Peoples’ Choice Award.

Throughout Saturday, and Sunday, artists offer demonstrations of their techniques and artistry. In addition to the work on display, these demonstrations are an inspiring and educational glimpse into the creative world.

As a labour of love, members volunteer their time, energy, expertise, and enthusiasm to set up and manage this gala exhibition. The artists welcome you to the show, answer your questions and help you with purchases.
