April Fools’ Haiku
Thought this haiku still fit for spring 2014….The birds are wondering when the snow will go.

I’m not one to normally participate in a daily writing challenges but this one from WORDPRESS intrigued me – write a poem every day for the month of April. Besides I haven’t blogged for over a month and I had committed to one post a month. Plus I do write poetry although lately my focus has more on prose and painting….
I’ll do my best to bring something to the table every day – they will be short. Today I offer up a HAIKU poem on the reluctance of spring to arrive. It’s April 1 and in my area of Canada we are experiencing snow flurries, at times almost blizzard conditions mixed with sunny breaks. It’s nature’s April Fools’ joke on us!
April Fools’
Oh reluctant spring,
as trees bud red, snow blows white
birds huddle in trees.
